In fact, 50% of respondents in Oracle’s Artificial Intelligence Is Winning More Hearts & Minds in the Workplace Report said they’re currently using some form of AI at work. That’s an incredible 32% jump from those who said the same last year. 

But why AI? As a sales leader, why should you communicate with your team using AI-powered chatbots?

According to Oracle’s report, there are many reasons you should consider adding chatbots to your current management strategy. We’ve decided to dig deeper into the data below to show why chatbots are the sales management tool you need today:  

They remove fear of judgment

Judgment comes in many shapes and sizes. It can be quiet, loud, biased — the list could go on. When sales reps fear judgment from leaders, their professional well-being suffers. 

Unfortunately, it’s challenging to assess whether your team feels comfortable opening up to you, especially regarding tough topics. Distrust can stem from rumors, experiences with former managers, personal experiences, or even a level of discomfort discussing a specific topic. 

Chatbots offer your reps the ability to open up about anything anonymously. While they have the opportunity to speak up without fear of judgment or bias, you gain insights into potentially harmful issues impacting your team. This is just one of the reasons 20% of Oracle’s respondents believe AI will help cultivate healthier relationships at work.

Depending on the size of your team, you likely have a sales rep knocking at your door, literally or figuratively, nearly every minute of the day. Chances are, in your opinion, many of these questions aren’t urgent. But to an on-the-go sales rep, they could mean the difference between closing a deal or losing one. 

You’re a busy sales manager, though. There’s not enough time in a day to immediately respond to every person on your team. Luckily, AI is opening the door for employees to receive the answers they need in real-time without taking much time out of their day — and none out of yours. 

In fact, Oracle revealed the No. 1 opportunity respondents believe AI will provide at work is having more free time. Chatbots offer immediate answers to questions and provide an outlet for them to discuss their concerns. As a result, sales reps feel seen and heard by the company, even when you can’t be present.

They offer unbiased advice

You know your sales team. You know their greatest struggles, their sales triumphs, and even key details about their personal lives. In many cases, this helps you manage your team. However, some employees fear they’re receiving biased information from leaders. 

Half of the employees in Oracle’s report have asked a robot for advice instead of their boss. Another 36% believe chatbots provide unbiased information better than their manager. There’s a clear connection between the two because it’s challenging to separate emotion from the advice you offer sales reps. 

Chatbots take your team’s histories and personal feelings out of sales management. They simply offer the best, unbiased advice regarding each question. This could lead to sales reps breaking out of their comfort zones.

They give you more quality time with employees

Chatbots don’t have the answer for everything — and they shouldn’t. According to Oracle’s respondents, employees still trust their managers more to understand their feelings (45%), to coach them (33%), and to evaluate team performance (26%).

Chatbots also offer key insights to help you make these meetings even more powerful.
